“Sinnah is a synth based on a single complex oscillator that includes five waveshapes with increasing spectral complexity, harmonics level for all waveshapes, noise level, and a delay matrix.

The delay matrix can have various configurations, from a “triple chorus” per voice to highly randomized resonators, or tuned relatively to the note played.
The delay matrix can also do multiple slapback echoes.
The feedback control of the matrix can go from zero to extremely saturated and it’s modulated by its own envelope.
The output of each voice is stereo via the delay matrix, which features a stereo spread knob.
The main analogue modelled ADSR envelope is loopable: two, three or continuous repeats.

The envelope can modulate the waveshape selection and the harmonics level.

The synth also features a subtractive stereo filter to carve the spectrum of the sound, somehow like an equalizer, with three filters: high pass, low pass and band reject (notch) .
The band reject filter also features gain and bandwidth controls.

Moreover a useful simple reverb is included.

The oscillator is antialiased and can play eight voices or mono, and features octave and fine pitch controls.

The GUI is fully drawn by vectors and resizeable, featuring an oscilloscope and peak meters. And eight colour schemes are available to fit your mood and taste.
An extended ToolTip display provides information for each control at mouseover.
So you don’t need to read a lengthy manual to learn what a knob or a slider is for.

The preset system is crossplatform, the files use the YAML format so they are very easy to read and edit if needed. Moreover, the preset names can support the complete international character set.

Sinnah is a VA synth plugin, but instead of the standard subtractive resonant filter it uses a resonant delay network.

Hard to describe its sound by words, despite the few controls the array of possible sounds is wide and wild”

NUSofting has introduced Sinnah, a freeware virtual analog synthesizer VST/AU plugin for 32-bit and 64-bit DAWs running on PC and Mac.

If you’re sick and tired of synths that follow the plain old subtractive synthesizer conventions, Sinnah is one of those slightly unusual virtual instruments that just might tickle your fancy. Based on a complex oscillator with five selectable waveshapes (featuring adjustable harmonics and spectral complexity) and a surprisingly useful delay matrix (that acts as a substitute for a resonant filter), this freeware synth can be used to make some pretty nifty digital sounds. Even though the amount of different flavors of sound you can get with it is not breathtakingly large, Sinnah does a rather excellent job at generating digital pads, woodwind leads and noisy lo-fi strings that would perfectly fit a melancholic electronica track. Of course, sky’s the limit for a talented knob tweaker / sound designer, and Sinnah is definitely one of those synths that are fun to program and experiment with.

My two favorite parts of Sinnah’s synthesis engine are the noise parameter in the oscillator section (especially when used in tandem with the first waveshape) and, of course, the delay matrix which can lead to some pretty wild modulation at higher feedback settings. The synth doesn’t come with too many presets at the moment, so your best bet is definitely to take some time to play around with the parameters by hand and see what you can come up with. I found that Sinnah can do some very nice sounding flutes, strings, pads and leads, but it can also be used to generate drones, quirky sound effects and some pretty huge background textures and atmospheres, thanks to the built-in reverb module.

Some of the other cool features include a built-in oscilloscope, a simple but pretty useful parametric equalizer and a resizable user interface (with adjustable colors). You also get portamento, mono/poly mode, and octave adjustment. The CPU hit is reasonably low, peaking at 16% with full polyphony.

Sinnah is distributed as a ZIP archive containing an EXE installer (PKG also included for Mac users). The installer simply extracts the plugin files (VST or AU, depending on your system) to the designated directory on the user’s hard drive, so I didn’t mind it too much. What’s particularly interesting is that a commercial spin-off called Sinnah Pro is planned for future release, implementing additional features based on user requests. The current version of Sinnah will stay free even after the release of Sinnah Pro, though.

C++ how to use fstream. Feb 26, 2008  I've read all the fstream tutorials, and none of the code works in devc 4.9.9.2. For example here is a function I'm working on. The code I have to convert a string to char works. H is not a standard header file (if anything supports it, it's for backward compatibility from long ago). None of the header files introduced in C have an extension. The same advice goes for over h as well.
